Issues Painting an imported .3MF and .FBX

Issue: I have a 3D model in .OBJ format. I am trying to color this object and import it to Unity (only supports .obj and .fbx).

An .OBJ file colored in Microsoft 3D builder (very intuitive program) imports into Unity in plain white, since Unity doesn't read the .MTL file.

So, how about converting the OBJ to FBX and trying to color it in Paint 3D. Nope, Paint 3D doesn't isolate separate surfaces in the same manner as 3D Builder, so the paint bucket tool colors the entire object.

I need to know how I can utilize Paint 3D to isolate and paint parts of a 3D model, extract to .FBX (assuming it retains color data without the need for a separate file).

Please help!!!!

 

Exporting Microsoft 3D builder Model to FBX or OBJ?

Hello there, today I just created my a model for my 3D game and I seemed to can't find a export to FBX or OBJ , is there anyway I can export my model to FBX or OBJ? because I really don't feel like downloading a modeling software, also if IT can export
to OBJ or FBX can Mixamo animate it?

May I know from where you are importing the fbx and obj files?

Ideally, when you are trying to import/export fbx and obj files, make sure the resolution is low. Meanwhile, when you export the 3D model, I suggest you to reduce the polygon face count to the minimum and try to import it on Paint 3D and try
to apply the texture map and check. During the export of FBX file from any 3D software that you are using, put a check mark on Textures and Materials and export it. By doing this, you will be able to adjust the mapping in Paint 3D.
