Windows 10: how to convert plum.sqlite into sticky note format

I had about 5 pages' worth of notes that are now gone from the Sticky Notes app which has one blank note in the Notes List, whether because I ended the process in task manager which I expected would cause things to end whatever they'd started running instead of deleting them or because I unsynced iCloud though it is now synced I think. I read that the Sticky Notes data is in the plum.sqlite file and so I found it in File Explorer and opened it. The plum.sqlite file has 665 pages. My notes included passcodes that consisted purely of long strings of numbers, which would be difficult to discern from the random characters and strange formatting throughout the document. Do I have to manually discern the text from the code, or can I somehow convert the code into sticky notes? I imagine that the code can somehow be read by the app?

Sticky Note Missing

1.- Open >> Sticky notes, when located on the taskbar (Right click on the option) >> Select: List of Notes, now check if your note is in that list.

Migrating Sticky Notes from 7 to 10

Hi.

I am having issues migrating/converting the old sticky notes (.snt) to the new one (.sqlite).

The normal procedure for doing this is...

1) On Windows 7, copy the sticky notes file from AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes

2) On Windows 10, paste that file to AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftStickyNotes_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\Legacy (having manually created the Legacy folder beforehand)

3) Rename StickyNotes.snt to ThresholdNotes.snt

4) Open Sticky notes and voila.

I'm having issues at step 4, in that I don't get a voila. The Sticky Notes app opens but it's totally blank so the conversion/migration never took place. Please help!

 

Sticky Notes are not located in windows.old folder (Updated 7/2020)

Win 7 to 10 requires that the notes be converted sqlite format. To do this:

Close sticky notes app

Go to %localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftStickyNotes_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState and create a folder called Legacy

Copy the .snt file to that location and rename it to ThresholdNotes.snt

Launch Sticky Note.
