    How to create a Windows 98 SE Boot Diskette


    I want to create a Windows 98 SE boot disk for my IBM ThinkPad 600X, however I don't have a 3.5in Floppy Disk drive that is supported by Windows 98. Is there anyway to create a Boot Disk without a 3.5 FD Drive?

    Windows 98......

    Windows 98 SE is Windows 9x and Windows 2000 is Windows NT. Some software may not run on Windows 2000 where it did on Windows 98 SE (ISA especially).

    Windows 98 SE does have USB support but it isn't near as plug n' play as it is today. You have to make sure to install drivers (if nothing else, generic Microsoft drivers) for all USB devices. The Windows 98 SE disk comes in real handy for that.

    Windows 98 diskette?

    I have a legal copy of Win 98 installed on another pc, and I also have the cd key.

    However, the actual disk is lost, and I need the disk to install some drivers.

    Is there a way to get around this? (I don't want to have a pirate copy or anything).

    What I need is Windows 98 Second Edition disk.

    why not try to use virtual PC and emulate windows 98 on a XP machine or did someone already suggest that?
