Windows 10: How to Crop not trim a Video with Windows10 and PowerPoint photo editor does not do it

Several questions have been asked about how to crop a movie using the win 10 photo editor.

You can't. It only crops photos.

You can trim the length, but that is not what this is about.

But if you have PowerPoint, yes you can!

Insert the movie on to a PowerPoint slide.

Now you can crop the video on the screen by choosing Crop on theVideo Format tab.

Once you have cropped it to your satisfaction, size it as you want on the slide, because this is what you will get in the final result. The exported video follows the appearance of the slide when your video is playing, including any areas of the slide not covered by the video.

go to File, Export and choose Create a Video.

Choose your resolution here and then click Create Video.

Choose your exported file location and wait. It takes a while to write the video file.

The exported video looks the way you want.

Thank you for your reply. However, I was not asking about trimming the length of the video. I was asking about how to activate the crop tool to crop the size of the video. I want to crop it to a 4:5 aspect ratio. I have drawn an arrow pointing to the
crop tool in the attached photo.

I have saved a series of photos as a video in Windows 10 Video Editor. Can I convert that to a PowerPoint file so that it can be added to another PP file?

Unfortunately, no, a video file is in a different ballgame than PowerPoint files, it's just an encoded file with a bunch of frames that make up a motion picture. I recommend you get the original photos if you still have them, and make a new PowerPoint presentation
with them, or if you don't have them anymore, screenshot them (Windows key + Print Screen), crop them, and put them on each slide.
