I had used BitLocker to encrypt my Windows 10 PC, and periodically backed up my files to a folder on an external drive that also included backups from different, non-encrypted computers in other folders.Last week I had to factory reset my PC because it was freezing frequently. When I tried to copy over my files from the external drive, the folder they are stored in along with all the files are encrypted and couldn't be transferred.When I try to open the files directly from the external drive they have a locked padlock icon and the error message says:"It looks like you don't have permission

I used to have access to Bit Locker and I had encrypted one of my drives with Bit Locker, but after I deleted all the junk files with the software, Bit Locker was no longer active and I could not access the encrypted drive. I had to format the drive. Even now, despite having all the prerequisites on the laptop and even having the data encryption section, I cannot access this section, and the bit locker has been removed from the control panel, and the bit locker is no longer on the device. does not deny I apologize for the bad grammar. Bit locker Encryption

Actually my problem is that i have previously installed windows 7 ultimate(32 bit) in my desktop and to protect my data,
encrypted the "D drive" using bit locker, then after few months, i installed
windows 10 pro(64 bit) in my desktop without disabling the bit locker, after installation i was able to access my locked drive with same password.

Till here everything was fine, but after some days my Desktop started to lag then again i switched to
windows 7 ultimate(64 bit).

But Now i'm not able to access my encrypted drive which was locked by bit locker with same password.

While i'm trying to unlock the encrypted drive i'm getting the massage as
"Unable to Complete the requested operation because of either a catastrophic media failure
or a data structure corruption on the disk".

Pls Help.

Encrypted External Drive that cannot be opened.

Members,

I have an external drive that was encrypted with bitlocker that cannot be opened. When I connect it to my PC, it says the device is working properly but the dialogue box does not appear for me to type my password. The password is correct.

I just don't know the problem.

Can you assist me to open the external drive, decrypt it and get rid of stupid bit locker.
