Windows 10: How to Decrypt files External Drive that was encrypted on a laptop that had just been...

Can't Decrypt my files on my External Drive. Encrypted these files on my laptop but this same laptop was reformatted re-installed windows 10. No backed up certificates and whatnot. Now I don't know how to decrypt my files error 0x80071771 because of restricted permission. I did change ownership and giving full permission on "Properties" of the file but the same error keeps on popping up when I try to uncheck "Encrypt..." option. Is there a way for me to still access my Encrypted files? If yes, please tell me how.Thank you so much in advance.

Decryption of encrypted files

Hi,

One of our employee deleted and encrypted the files in the F: drive using cipher.exe command. While trying to recover them with a third party software, the deleted files are showing and all of them are encrypted. Can anyone suggest how can i decrypt and
recover all the deleted data back?

It is a good idea to use Bitlocker to protect hard drives. Please provide the following needed information:

1. How do you try to access the drive?

2. Do you get any pop-up message when trying to access the drive?

3. Is this an external hard drive?

You can turn off Bitlocker Drive Encryption by following these steps:

• 
  Login as Administrator to your PC.
  
• 
  Click Start, click Control Panel, click
  Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.
  
• 
  From the BitLocker Drive Encryption page, find the volume on which you want BitLocker Drive Encryption turned off, and click
  Turn Off BitLocker Drive Encryption.
  
• 
  From the What level of decryption do you want dialog box, click either
  Disable BitLocker Drive Encryption or Decrypt the volume as needed.
