Ok, so I have figured out how to cut the shape of a bird out of my picture with the magic selection tool. But now how do I make the background disappear? I'm trying to insert the bird pic into a tshirt creation site and I dont want it to be square. I want it bird shaped. Help!

    :)

    Photoshop help?

pen tool is a pain in the ass to use - definently wouldn't recommend it to a newbie.

just do as digi said - select the background, using either the magic wand tool or the quick select tool, and select the background, and then delete it, or paint bucket it white. alternatively, if you have cs4 or higher, there is a magic eraser tool too, which does the function of magic wand + delete in a single click.

How To Save Microsoft Paint 3D Magic Select Tool Images

Aha! After struggling with this for a while as well, I found a way to achieve this.

After using Magic Select on the image portion I wanted to keep, I moved that portion away from the "active" area. Using the normal Select tool, I deleted the background that I didn't want. I then selected the image and moved it back to the original position
before Exporting it to a 2D jpg format.

Although this removes the background, it then has a plain white background - I haven't yet worked out how to make the background transparent so the image can just be dropped into another picture.

Will carry on playing - sorry...experimenting, I mean of course - and post here if I get a solution.

    Paint 3d Magic select

So I've been enjoying the Paint 3d app for helping with editing pictures especially the Magic select function but recently it's not working the way it use too. when I would use the function it would take the area I selected and when I remove it the area
behind would be filled in like the way photoshop would be if you deleted a layer from the established background, background intact selected layer gone.

but now it's just a white back ground whenever I remove the selected area is there a way to fix it?
