Windows 10: How to delete an erroneous user

While setting up a new computer I mistakenly mistyped a user name. I now have a duplicate user Larri in addition to Larrie me with administrator privilege. Both have a folder called AppData which contain three subfolders Local, LocalLow and Roaming. There are of different sizes with different numbers of files. The duplicate incorrect folder is smaller and most files have an earlier date. However, I cannot seem to delete this user because it doesn't show up in Control Panel and if I try to delete individual folders in Larri, I get an error message that the file is open in another app. I

Erroneous symbols at the bottom left corner of desktop icons

I'm running Windows 10 with the latest updates. A few days ago, the icons for objects on the desktop changed appearance. The icons are correct but
all have a symbol at the bottom left corner:

• Shortcuts show the correct shortcut symbol
• All files erroneously show a shortcut symbol
• Almost all folders erroneously show a shortcut symbol
• Some folders erroneously show "X"

The icons for files and folders (including the Desktop folder) displayed using File Explorer are all normal.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

 

Current active users that are friends

The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.
