Windows 10: How to delete pagefile.sys/move it on the same drive Windows won't let me?

Hello,I'm trying to split my 456 GB C: partition so that I can install re-install actually a dual-boot.Windows doesn't allow me to shrink it as much as I would like it to, despite the fact that there is enough empty space, because of the immovable paging file.I tried disabling it once, it worked, I shrank my C: partition of 50 GB, installed my dual-boot correctly and re-enabled the paging file. It turned out 50 GB weren't enough, so I deleted the other OS and started the process again. This time however, whenever I try to disable the paging file, Windows systematically tells me on startup th

Deleting Hiberfil & Pagefile

Howdy,

So I have a 60gb SSD with Windows 7 and Office on it (all specs are listed <--- under my username). I have a 12gb pagefile and a 9gb hiberfil, is it possible to delete those or make it so that hiberfil at the very least is no longer created? I just want a little free space on there for future use.

Thoughts?

hi my pagefile sys went up suddenly to 11 gb while was playing game and after like end match in game it went back to normal how it was before it maked first time i think is it normal

 

Deleting Hiberfil & Pagefile

Pagefile size depends on RAM, just find optimal value and stick to that.

If you use SSD and want more free space then disable System Restore. It is far more efficient than disabling hiberfil

After disabling hibernation hiberfil.sys gets deleted automatically.
