  2. 64 bit Windows 10 home, Backup failure. PC is core i7 6820/32 GB Ram.

    Hi,

The System Reserved Partition (SRP) may be full that's why you are having issues backing up your computer. We suggest using Disk Cleanup to to remove the temp files in
System Reserved Partition (SRP). Kindly follow the steps below:

    • Search for Disk cleanup from the taskbar and select it from the list of results.
    • Click on Clean up system files button.
    • Go to the More options tab, and click Clean up button under System Restore and Shadow Copies section.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    "SRP Block Detected"

Hi Roger, are the SRPs that CryptoPrevent set stopping PatchMyPC from running? Are you running free or paid version.

For any SRP blocks happening, if they're causing a problem, you can whitelist them in CryptoPrevent so that the SRP no longer blocks those apps.

Options / Settings > Policy Editor > Whitelist SR Policies

    or to be more restrictive

Whitelist by MD5 or SHA256 hash

Options / Settings > Policy Editor > User Hash Definitions

  4. How to determine which disk is SRP

    SRP update fail

    Hi Tommaso,

SRP means system recovery partition, it is the first partition on your disk.

This may occur due to some third party backup or recovery tool added its files to this partition.

You may assign letter to this partition, check it with chkdsk command, look for third-party files may be deleted. Don't forget to delete letter from partition after cleaning.
