Windows 10: How to disable audio driver updating automatically?

Alright so, I want to keep this audio driver since it works normally, but sometimes when I come back later, it goes to Realtek Audio instead. Is there a way to forcefully keep this audio driver by default?

A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

Cannot Disable VIA Audio Driver Automatic Update

Please read my initial post in its entirety before attempting to reply again. I've already uninstalled the driver, ran the troubleshooter tool, selected two VIA driver updates to be ignored, re-installed the driver through the setup program, and the automatic
update happens anyway. My guess is that the setup program triggers Windows into thinking it is a new device, and thus the selected ignored driver updates are useless. I know they are still active because they appear in the "Show" list if I run the troubleshooter
and elect to "Show hidden updates".

I need to know how to prevent the process that detects new hardware and automatically updates that hardware's driver with a version from Windows Update. It doesn't appear to be Windows Update itself, because it claims that my computer is up-to-date after
hitting "Check for updates" multiple times during all steps of uninstallation/reinstallation of the audio driver. With absolutely no warning or input from me of any kind, my old driver is uninstalled, and a newer non-functional driver is installed.

I also forgot to mention that I tried something else - I read elsewhere that there is a group policy that prevents driver installation of selected devices. I added my audio chipset to this list, but instead of the automatic update not kicking in at all,
it simply uninstalled the driver I had installed, and left the device without a driver (because it could not install a new driver due to the group policy).

I guess that's a better question - is there a group policy or some sort of security feature that will enable me to DISALLOW UNINSTALLATION of a driver for a device?
