    How to keep custom installed drivers for certain devices in other words


    I have a laptop with a malfunctioned keyboard such that it some buttons like 6, delete keeps on being clicked. I firstly restricted the number of repetitive clicks but the solutions did not worked so I disable the device by installing an incompatible version of driver.


    It worked fine for sometime until I recently updated windows.

    Now the windows won't allow me to keep my drivers instantly installed the device driver. So I tried disabling the device by using it's hardware ID in the Group policy driver installation section where I enabled the "prevent the installation of the devices having these devices IDs". It caused the usb keyboard and mouse to stop working as somehow they have similar hardware IDs. Now I don't want to get myself involved in all this trouble there should be a one second step but somehow with every update the windows is becoming worse.

    Resolution Suggestion:

    # To resolve this problem, make sure that BITS and the Automatic Updates service are started..

    A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

    1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

    2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

    3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

    4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

    5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

    6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

    7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.
