Windows 10: How to disable efficiency mode without having to go in manually on each tab on the task...

When I try to use my laptop my tabs on any internet browser get put into efficiency mode. Even when I go in and manually remove each of them its back on there not long after removing. I have tried changing the power settings from balanced to full performance but that doesn't seem to help. How do I permanently turn efficiency mode off on the task manager?

How do I permanently disable this feature for Firefox? The option to do so is greyed out in the task manager. For other programs, efficiency mode can be enabled and disabled, but not for Firefox, which is also the only program to be in efficiency mode. I do not want my browser to run unnecessarily poorly.

Thanks for the response.

I tried what you suggested and disabled both settings, relaunched, and turned off efficiency mode for each sub-process it was active for.

Within 2 minutes, efficiency mode was re-activated, so your solution didn't seem to work.

I am on a desktop so I don't think the battery one would have any effect.

Since yesterday (28 March) Google chrome is unusable. Task manager on my windows desktop says that efficiency mode is active for several but not all sub-processes of google chrome and I believe that is the reason for the drop in performance.

I am able to disable efficiency mode for each individual sub-process, but it returns a few minutes later. I cannot permanently disable it.

Simple actions such as changing a tab or moving the window causes it to freeze for several minutes.

- I have no recent or current updates to install. Everything is up to date.

- There are no other demanding processes / apps running on my pc

- I have tried altering Chrome's performance and memory settings. Nothing changed.

- This problem is the same with Edge and some other applications.

- Efficiency mode is greyed out for the entire application. Only certain sub-processes of chrome are in efficiency mode.

The only difference between yesterday and today, is that efficiency mode is active non-stop.

I do not want efficiency mode running at all for google chrome as it is the main browser I use for work and school.
