Can you try these steps and let me know if it works?

• Press the Windows key + X and select "Device Manager."
  
• Expand the "Human Interface Devices" section.
  
• Look for the device related to haptic feedback (it might be named something like "Vibration Motor" or "Haptic Feedback Device").
  
• Right-click on it and select "Disable device" or "Uninstall device" to disable the haptic feedback

Hello everyone

I encountered the issue of start menu popping up a few days ago

My device is a surface pro 3

I did everything that was suggested on this site and anywhere else on the web, and nothing worked

After resetting my windows and reinstalling the whole thing by clearing my device completely, it still occurs

I also tried going through the surface diagnosis toolkit, which was suggested earlier, and it didn't work either

I finally found out that my surface home button is triggered to open start menu when the device is overheating and the button senses that it is being touched, when un fact, it is not and is triggered by the heat coming from the back of the device.

I ended up disabling the home button from services, which disables the volume and power button as well.

It solved the issue of start menu popping up, but the vibration of haptic feedback which is connected to the home button is still triggered.

The overheating ironically occurs when windows serviced such as antimalware service is running and takes a lot of memory and cpu.

I understand that my device is out of warranty and Microsoft no longer provides services for my device, but it doesn't really matter because those services are not available in my region (Iran) in the first place.

I have made peace with not being able to use volume and power button, but I need to know a way to disable the haptic feedback as well. Or disabling the numerous windows services that take too much cpu and cause the overheating.
