Windows 10: How to disable my son from being able to turn off "share my activity" in the family app on...

I've never used the Family app before, but my 13 year old is getting a laptop for Christmas. I've got it setup and really liking the settings available on the app and web for me and his mom.However if he opens the desktop app and goes into his profile, under privacy, he can turn off "share my activity"; this should not be allowed.If I uninstall the family app from his profile on the laptop, will it still report to me?Is there a way to disable him from being able to turn off that setting?

Family activity report

Hi Javier,

There are ways on how to manage activity reporting for your child. To configure your account settings, here are the steps:

• Go to the account.microsoft.com/family site at Microsoft on any PC
• Then sign-in
• Open Settings
  
• Tap on the Accounts icon
• Click on Family and other users on the left side
• Chose Manage family settings online
• Check recent activity link for the child's account

Turn On and Manage Activity Reporting for Child

• Click on Recent activity on the left side, and turn on Activity reporting.
• Check or uncheck to Email weekly reports to me for what you want.
• Under Web browsing, Apps and games etc., you can view your child's recent activity for each one, tap on Change settings
  
• Then set allowed times to manage them, and to block any apps and games.

To Turn Off Activity Reporting for your Child, just tap on Recent activity on the left side, and turn off Activity reporting on the right side.

Get back to us if the steps won't work.

 

Family Safety: Son's computer not recognizing changes in Windows 10.

To assist you better, please provide us the information below:

• Have you tried to log out or restart from the child's computer and logging in to the computer?
• Are you able to see the child account in the Family Safety settings after removing it?

I suggest you to refer to the steps below to remove the child account from the family safety account and also turn on
Activity reporting.

How to turn off Family safety settings

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps you regarding the
family safety settings.

Turn off family settings in Windows 10

• To turn off family settings for a child in your family, sign in at account.microsoft.com/family. Then choose one of these
  options:
  • Remove them from family settings by choosing Remove, then selecting their account, then selecting
    Remove again. They’ll still be able to sign in to their PCs, but this will remove any family limits that you set.
  • Or select them from the main family page, which will bring you to their Recent activity. If
    Activity reporting is turned On, turn it
    Off. Then repeat for the other settings pages (Web browsing, Apps, games & media, Screen time, Purchase & spending), making sure that those switches are turned
    Off.
