  1. How to disable PalmCheck? Touchpad not appearing in device manager

I'm trying to disable PalmCheck so I can move and look around at the same time in games while using the trackpad. However, every solution I find is outdated and the required setting no longer exists. This is a new laptop I got only a few months ago.

    Solutions I have tried include:

    • Find touchpad in device manager and update touchpad drivers (Touchpad not showing up even after showing hidden devices). I also tried manually downloading the driver, but when I tried to install it it popped up an error saying "Synaptics device not found!" which is weird because my touchpad works fine?
    • Edit the setting in RegEdit under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Synaptics > SynTP (There is no "Synaptics" in SOFTWARE anymore)
    • Go to the mouse properties and edit the setting in the Device Settings tab (There is no device settings tab anymore, the rightmost one is hardware now)

Is there any way to disable palmcheck?

    Edit: Version 10.0.19041 Build 19041

Turn off Palmcheck/touchpad delay after typing

    Hi Alex,

PalmCheck Feature has the ability to distinguish between an accidental touch of the touchpad with the palm and an intentional brushing of the touchpad. Windows has left every scope of personalization and customization with device settings and so, turning PalmCheck
OFF, although not a good idea, still can be implemented. First thing we suggest is to run the troubleshooter. To perform the task, kindly follow the steps provided by

For any concern, don't hesitate to get back to us.

How to disable PalmCheck? Touchpad not appearing in device manager

I want to disable touchpad on Dell laptop

    Hello everyone,
My laptop's touchpad works and I don't want it to, because I prefer a mouse. It's a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series on windows 10 OS.

What I have tried that hasn't worked:
    • start<settings<devices<mouse & touchpad<additional mouse options. This opens a window called Mouse Options which has 5 tabs up top, none of which involve the touchpad. The Hardware tab shows 2 devices: the mouse itself, and the USB. No touchpad there.
    • windows key+x<mobility center. No touchpad to be found.
    • various function keys. No options for touchpad on/off.
    • device manager<mice and other pointing devices. Again, only the mouse and usb show up. It appears the touchpad is working without a driver, which is a little spooky.
Any other suggestions? I could try downloading a third party driver, but that seems like a step in the wrong direction.
    Thanks
