How to disable run dialog history? (disable, not empty)

How do I prevent windows from keeping a history of commands typed in the Run dialog box?

I mean DISABLE not empty. The entries are in
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU

Is there a .reg to disable it?

    :)

  2. How to disable confirm dialog when deleting messages on the Lumia 920?

It is really annoying that each time I delete a message, I have to confirm. How can I disable that on the Lumia 920?

Also, I spend a long time trying to figure out why my phone did not come with Nokia Music in denmak, after alomost 1 hour searching on the net, I found out that the service do not exist in Denmark... Why not just have the Nokia Music in the App store and
just show a message when people try to install it, saying that its not availble in the user's country?

You can't dsable the confirmation, but you can reduce the number of times you need to confirm to just once by marking the messages you wish to delete first. Shortcut for marking messages is to tap the left hand edge of the message you with to mark.

Hi, as a guess, you might try changing the permissions on
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU

A quick internet search (see my signature!) offers this (see second part on permissions)
Tweak the History in the Run Dialog Box in Windows

    I saw that.
Somehow in Windows 7 I managed to make windows not log those entries with some setting/config.
Now in Windows 10 it is logging them on that MRU key.

Isn't there a .reg key or a .vbs/.cmd script to do all that parmission stuff?

I mean, If I have to manually to registry and change that key permission I rather leave it as is.

Well, you could write a script to make the change.... *Wink

Settings/Personalization/Start/'Show most used apps' - uncheck.

Perfect! That is what I was looking for. Now I just need a .reg for that setting *Biggrin

Set the setting then go and export the empty RunMRU Key to use at will.

Here's how to find out what you need (I doubt someone's going to give you that).

    1. Get a copy of Regshot (free)
    2. Run it, create first capture.
    3. Make change as Edwin describes.
    4. Create 2nd capture.
    5. Compare

The result shows you what's changed.
Therefore you can save the relevant registry key for future use.

I tried it before you post.
Unfortunately the regshot comparison output is huge. I couldn't get the specific key from it.
Event though the difference/time the snapshots is a simple click on the "apply"

    I always use procmon.

Seems to be the Start_TrackProgs DWORD at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

    Off is zero.

Is there any way of using procmon to get a before and after comparison to see changes? I wasn't aware of that..

Don't think so. I just filtered SystemSettings.exe and RegSetValue then toggled on and off a few times to see what it was changing.
