hello: I want to disable various unnecessary Windows tasks via cmd and "Power Shell". however, both ways give me access denied. I am trying to do it with the system right after formatting it and it shows the same error. the commands used are the following: "schtasks /change /TN <C:\Windows\System32\Tasks\Microsoft\Windows\Chkdsk> /f "

"Access is Denied" in task manager

    Hi Joshua,

The error message that you're getting may occur due to the restriction for a certain system file or folder. To get the full access on your device, open
Command Prompt (Admin) and signed in with your username and password and check if you'll still see the "Access is Denied" message.

The Windows Defender is the default antivirus of Windows 10. You can open
    Settings
    > Update and Security > Windows Defender > toggle off
Real-time Protection. If you want to permanently disable it, follow these steps:

    • Tap on the Windows key to open the Start Menu.
    • Type regedit.exe and hit Enter.
    • Confirm the UAC prompt to continue.
    • Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender.
    • If you see the preference DisableAntiSpyware on the right, double-click on it and set it to 1 to disable Windows Defender.
    • If the preference does not exist, right-click on Windows Defender and select
New > Dword (32-bit) Value, and name it DisableAntiSpyware.

To restore Windows Defender at a later point in time, delete the key or set its value to 0.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully.
For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. Click
    here for assistance.

You can disable the startup programs using the Task Manager. Here's how:

    • Right-click on an empty area on the taskbar and select Task Manager.
    • When Task Manager comes up, click the Startup tab and look through the list of programs that are enabled to run during startup.
    • Right-click the program and select Disable.

Feel free to respond if the provided steps work for you.

  3. "Access is Denied" in task manager

Operating System: Windows 10, latest version.

Issue: Getting "Access is Denied" when trying to lower CPU usage for the Antimalware Service Executable/Windows Defender Service

So I am trying to lower my CPU usage for a laptop I bought, however when attempting this I get an "Access is Denied" when attempting to remove it. I do own this PC and am the only user on this PC, so therefore I should have full permission over what I want
to do to my computer. Also, I can't seem to permanantly disable the "Windows Modules Installer Worker."

    Questions:

How do I gain full administrative powers over my PC?

How do I disable/remove the Windows Defender Service (will be using a different antivirus software?)

How do I permanently disable many applications I do not want back?

How do I disable startup programs that are not listed within my startup list on the task manager or windows config?

how to disable system tasks in windows 10 without access denied

LAPTOP is not accessible ..... Access is denied.

I am trying to share a folder on a LAPTOP. I have other a number of other systems that have folders Shared and they work fine, but with this one I get the error "LAPTOP is not accessible ..... Access is denied." when I try to access it from a different Win10 system. So I went thru the entire "How to Share Files and Folders Over a Network in Windows 10" tutorial step by step. File and Print Sharing is enabled, SMB1.0 client & server are running, and Everyone has Full Access to the Share. Still get the error. I have tried it with the Network Public and Private, with the same result. Any suggestions ?
