    How to disable the "New" tag on newly installed programs

    If you mean in the Start or Start, All apps menu, I notice that it automatically goes away after opening the program a time or two.

    Yes, you are correct, All Apps.

    In all previous distributions, I was able to disable "Highlight Newly Installed Programs" and the "New" tag. Also, in previous distributions, the highlight and new tag would disappear after a while, but I don't want either to appear at all. I know that I installed a new program, I don't need Windows telling me that I just installed something new.
