Windows 10: How to disable the option to turn off the PC on remote desktop control?

Hello,If I connect to remote desktop, I have three options to choose from.Obviously, I don't want to turn it off, not even by mistake, so I wanted to disable this option. However, how do I do this? Normally this can be set in the control panels, but in this case it isn't possible.Please helpThank you

Please follow the below instructions to make sure both Remote Assistance and Remote Desktop is disabled for remote users to connect to your PC.

Step 1:

Open Control Panel and then click on System

Step 2:

on left side click on Remote settings

Step 3:

Under Remote Assistance option for Allow Remote Assistance Connections to this computer should be Unchecked.

Step 4:

Under Remote Desktop Option for Don't Allow Remote Connections to this computer should be Checked.

To make sure further Go to below Registry settings:

Step 1:

Start the registry editor (e.g., regedit.exe).

Step 2:

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server.

Step 3:

Double-click fDenyTSConnections make sure Value Data is set to 1. (1 - Means Disabled)

Also to block completely remote connections via Remote Desktop please follow below instructions to block Remote desktop port Windows Firewall.

Step 1:

Go to Search next to Windows icon & type Windows DefenderFirewall.

Step 2:

Click on Inbound Rules

Step 2:

On the right side Select New Rule from the Actions pane.

Step 3:

Select Port from the Rule Type listing.

Step 4:

Select TCP and specify the ports 3389

Step 5:

Select Block the connection.

Step 6:

Select All the options under when does this rule apply.

Step 7

Add a name, RDP Port 3389 Block

Step 8:

Click Finish

Hi guys,

I want to build a simple IR receiver that:

1. Will work only with one remote-control button, i.e. it will react only when a specific button is pressed on my remote control (probably there should be some way to program the IR receiver for the specific button code).

2. When the remote-control button is pressed, the PC will turn on.


I guess it can be done by hooking into the POWER button and closing the circuit, as if the button was pressed.

I know imon (http://www.soundgraph.com/pr/e_pr_4.asp?m1d=1&m2d=4) supports it, but it's a total overkill for what I need.


Can anyone help with that? *Confused
