Windows 10: How to disable xbox/Xvd from populating on PC Windows 10

I'm having an issue that I'm having Disk 5 My hardware only has 0-4 is being removed randomly, and after this happens about 10 times in a row my PC crashes.The only connection I'm having to this hard crash are these events as I can put my PC at 100% load and not have any issue, but if a game or service I guess triggers what ever uses this Xvd it takes about 30 minutes to 2 hours before it will crash my PC due to mounting multiple instances and removing them.I have removed all Xbox apps/services I can and have disabled the current Xvd drive that shows up. This is a very interesting issue. Honestly this is the first time I encounter this kind of scenario.

For us to fully replicate the issue we would like to ask additional information like,

This information will be highly appreciated, this will help us narrow our troubleshooting for this issue.

XVD is actually used to do manual installation of updates for Xbox One Console so if you don't need it you can just remove it.

How to disable devices using Device Manager

To disable a device using Device Manager on Windows 10, use these steps:

1. Open Start.
   
2. Search for Device Manager and click the top result to open the experience.
   
3. Expand the category with the device that you want to disable.
   
4. Right-click the device, and select the Disable device option.
   
   
   
   Quick Tip: Alternatively, you can click the Properties option, then on Driver tap, you'll also find an option to disable the selected hardware.
   
5. Click the Yes button to confirm.
   

Once you've completed the steps, the device you disabled will no longer be available for use.

Can I Disable all XVD devices?

I have a windows 10 PC and using the device manager, I found a large number of XVD devices. I know that these are Xbox Virtual Drives and they enable the play of Xbox One games on PC. I don't play Xbox One games on my PC and I never have. Using a third party device manager (DevManView) I was able to find that these devices are connecting every ~7 minutes only to disconnect 1 minute later. This constant disconnecting and reconnecting is causing problems in another application, and I would like to see this resolved.

I have a number of questions

1) why are there multiple xvd drives in my device manager if I never play Xbox games on my PC? And to clarify there are a lot of XVD drives, more than 20.

2) Can I disable/uninstall all of them without causing problems?

edit 3) could disabling/uninstalling the Xvdd scsi miniport be an option? I am assuming that this is the Xbox virtual disk drive or something.

Thank you for your timely response, we hope your doing fine.

We were surpirsed seeing those multiple XVD drives on a single computer and we were wondering because XVD Driver can only be generated if you have the Xbox One games on PC which will normally generate the XVD or Xbox Virtual Drives Files. Have you disabled Xbox apps on your pc already?

Press Windows key + X
Click Windows PowerShell (Admin)
At the prompt, type the following:

Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxApp | Remove-AppxPackage

Kindly try doing the process and observe if there is any changes.
