    Welcome to the Microsoft Community forums.

    Please can you tell me which programs you wish to use dictation on?

    Cortana is your built in search, she does not type for you. However, most apps and programs have a dictation software, which does what you are asking. However, it depends on which software you are wanting to use, as not every program/app you download supports
    this feature.

    There is a dictation option in the Keyboard on Windows 10. You will need to right click onto your Taskbar > Click onto Show Touch Keyboard option > click onto the Keyboard icon next to date and time.

    You will notice a microphone at the top of the keyboard. Once you click onto this, you will be able to speak into the computer, and it will type for you.

    Cortana Notebook

    In order to enable the Notebook icon in Cortana, I suggest you to check if you have enabled Cortana.

    To enable Cortana, please follow the steps below:

    • Go to Cortana.
    • Go to Settings.
    • Turn on “Cortana can give you suggestions, ideas, reminders, alerts”.
