Windows 10: How to eliminate the default graphical display of properties info in File Explorer

File Explorer shows the properties of the file or folder within which it is working at the right side of the display. I believe this started showing up after a recent Windows update. For me, this adds no value to the display and only serves to take up space. It's essentially the same info I can get with right-click and show properties. Usually I don't need to see the properties, so showing it by default isn't helpful. In the screen shot below, it is the raw.text that I'm referring to.


How can I eliminate it?

Windows Explorer/file Properties Details not displaying tags

I'm trying to tag documents so they can be found easily but I don't have the option to add a tag to a file. The Details panel in my Windows Explorer does not display tags in the list of properties. Also, when I right-click a file, go to Properties and then click the Details tab, tags are not listed there either.

Is there a way to turn this feature on? Thanks in advance for any help.

 

DSF files do not display tag info in File Explorer column view

Right click on a file in the directory and choose properties, move over to the details tab.
You can modify some of the entries by clicking on the space beside the entry you want to modify.
right click on the folder in the right pane choose properties and go to the customize tab.

1. In the search box type as “settings”.

2. Go to “system” and click on “default apps”.

3.Then click on “set default apps by”.

4. Select “File Explorer from the list” and click on “choose defaults for this program”.

5. Then check the box “select all” and click on “save.

6. Then click on “ok”.
