  2. No internet (Killer E2200) after update Windows 10

    Hello Morasder,

I am the official support for Killer Networking.

Unfortunately, this seems to be more of a Windows Update issue than an issue with the Killer Drivers, and it's not related to the Killer Suite at all. The issue is that, when Windows updates to the fall creator's update, something disconnects between the
driver and the OS, causing this error. This is evident by the fact that rolling back always fixes the issue, and that many people are using these same drivers on the Windows Fall Creator's Update without any problems.

You already have ready my knowledge base article on the subject. I suspect that the ultimate fix will come in a later Windows update. For now, though, I do have a theory on what might help, but I have yet to get much confirmation, and I have not been able
to duplicate the issue enough to know for sure. I will share my idea with you, though, and hopefully it will help you.

My idea is that stripping the driver down to the "inbox" driver, or the driver that is preinstalled with Windows, then allowing the update, should result in a healthy Ethernet adapter and connection. Then you should be able to update to the latest driver.
    Here are the steps:

    • Download the latest Killer Control Center from here - Killer Control Center 64-bit - for later installation.
    • Right-click Start
    • Click Apps and Features
    • Uninstall everything "Killer", including "Killer Performance Driver Suite" and any variations. This will also include the Killer Network Manager. Literally anything with "Killer" in it.
    • Restart your machine by clicking Start > Power > Restart
    • Right-click Start
    • Click Device Manager
    • Double-click Network Adapters
    • Right-click your E2200 and click Uninstall device
    • Put a check in the box for Delete the driver software for this device if it appears.
    • Click Uninstall
    • Click Action > Scan for hardware changes. The E2200 should reappear.
    • Repeat steps 9-12, but only for as long as Delete the driver software for this device appears. Each time you do this, you are deleting a previously installed driver. We want them all gone. Once there i no option to
Delete the driver software for this device, move on to step 13. The E2200 will likely always reappear, and that is fine, as it is just reinstalling the default driver.
    • Restart your machine by clicking Start > Power > Restart
    • Allow the Fall Creator's Update to go through. In your case, take your connection off of "Metered" and then check for updates, and it should go through.
    • Hopefully the E2200 will be working when it comes out the other side. At that point, you can install the latest Killer Control Center package, and be good to go.

Please let me know if this works for you. I'm trying to get some further confirmation before I add it as a definite fix on our KB. You can contact me directly at *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. Also contact me if this doesn't work, as I have a few other ideas.

  3. Guide: Turn your Killer E2200 NIC into Qualcomm Atheros AR8161

Created an account to say thanks for the suggestion to use Qualcomm Athero AR8161 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller drivers on the Killer E2200.

I just got a new MSI GT70 laptop yesterday which has the Killer E2200. First thing I did was to upgrade to Windows to 8.1 Professional. Then I began downloading games through Steam/Origin.

As I downloaded my RAM would soon reach 8GB out of 8GB in use... and the laptop would come to a near complete standstill. My cursor would skip around the screen, but could not get anything to function.

I soon found out the Killer E2200 is notorious memory leaker. Uninstalled, reinstalled, upgraded the drivers... No luck. Still leaking my memory every time I do to download.

So far using the Qualcomm Athero AR8161 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller driver has resolved my issue.

How to enable "NetBIOS over Tcpip" in Killer E2200 Gigabit Ethernet Controller

No internet (Killer E2200) after update Windows 10

    Hey guys,

I have a Z97 Gaming 3 (MS-7918) motherboard with Killer E2200 Gigabit Ethernet Controller and running Windows 10.

Windows 10 is forcing an update, but after that update I cannot connect to internet. The Windows problem fixer says there might a problem with the driver for the adapter for Ethernet but won't fix it. I have been busy for hours trying to fix it myself but to
no avail. Can someone help out?

    I have tried:

    -Following this fix:
    https://www.killernetworking.com/driver-downloads/kb#faq_55
with both the recent and the beta version from the most recent drivers page (Killer Wireless | Killer Networking | Killer Ethernet Driver),
    but still no internet.

-Going back to the older version of Windows 10: this fixes the problem, but Windows then forces me to update again and I'm back on square 1.

-Tried unchecking the box 'Killer Bandwith Control' in the adapter properties (some old forum post recommended this), but when I press OK it says an unexpected situation occurred and no changes have been applied.

-Tried using Qualcomm Atheros AR8161 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller drives to make my computer recognise it as an Qualcomm Atheros instead (some old forum post recommended this because Killer is notorious in causing trouble), but this
did not help (after system recovery I am now back to Killer).

Above tries have gotten me nowhere. Note that in Device Manager, the ethernet adapter (Killer) does not show an error, it says it's working. Version of the driver it shows in properties is 9.0.0.46 (31-8-2017).

If you require more information before being able to help, please let me know (and how I can find it). Getting rather desperate here!

    Thanks in advance
