How to enable Network Level Authentication for RDP?

I have not done anything related to NLA for my Windows 10 Professional. However, I am unable to connect to Windows Servers that have restricted their connections to only those using NLA.

I wonder why my PC does not have NLA or NLA enabled. How do I set it up?

    Thanks.

    :)

  2. Microsoft Account and Authentication during RDP

Hello, trying to RDP to my windows 10 (fall creators update) via RDP but the RDP client always fails with invalid credential.

    I have tried the combinations:

    • Microsoft account primary alias and Microsoft account password
    • Local username associated with my Microsoft account and Microsoft account password
Neither is accepted for sign in. I have Mobile sign in enabled on my account so I technically never entered my password here.

  3. RDP authentication error

    Hi,

When using RDP to access a server on the network, I get the following error:

    An authentication error has occurred.

The function resuested is not supported.

    Remote computer: 10.0.x.x

This could be due to CredSSp encryption oracle remediation.

    For more information, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=866660

    How do I resolve this?

    P.S.: I am accessing a Windows 2012 server from WIndows 10 PC.

    Thanks

  4. How to enable Network Level Authentication for RDP?

Microsoft Account set to use 2 Factor Authentication & Authentication Phone App but it doesn't prompt for authentication when signing in to my Windows 10 PC locally or remotely (via RDP).

OK I created a 2nd Microsoft account and setup the Authentication App on an old phone I had lying around for 2-factor authentication.

    Step 1

I logged into this website with that account and it prompted me with the Authentication App so 2 factor is setup correctly on the NEW Microsoft Account.

    Step 2

I logged in on my Windows 10 PC with that NEW account and it also DOES NOT PROMPT for 2-Factor Authentication.

I tried to log in via RDP and, again, it DOES NOT PROMPT for 2-Factor.

    My question remains unanswered.
