  1. How to enable windows to snap to screen/other windows edges?

I've been using KDE's plasma desktop for a bit, and I love the way they handle windows.

If I grab a window's title bar, and drag it towards the say left side of my screen, the window will "snap" to the edge when close. I can continue to move it further left so it goes off screen, or leave it where it is. The same thing happens if I move it towards another window. The window I'm dragging will snap to the edge, so that there's no overlap, but if I continue, it will layer the current window on top.

How do I enable this in Windows? Currently, windows are happy to just fly right off the edge of the screen without a care in the world. This is really annoying behavior and it makes no sense. I pretty much never want a window to go offscreen. Snapping to an edge just makes more sense.

I'm not looking for keyboard short cuts or anything to move windows around faster. Just looking for snapping when moving/resizing them manually by dragging the title bar.

    :)

    • Open Settings.
    • Select System.
    • Click Multitasking in the left pane.
    • Turn ON the When I snap a window, show what I can snap next to it option.

  3. Turn On or Off Aero Snap in Windows 10

Yes I already tried your suggestion prior to posting, otherwise I wouldn't trouble you How to enable windows to snap to screen/other windows edges? :)
It did nothing, it still latches on to the side of the screen between monitors, not just up/sides.

    Thanks,

How to enable windows to snap to screen/other windows edges?

    Snap Assist

    Hi Cory,

The Snap Assist allows you to juggle apps, arrange open windows, resize windows by simply dragging and dropping them to the edges of the screen. If you don't want to get a quarter screen snap, you can change the settings of Snap Assist by follow the steps below:

    • Open the Settings app
    • Click System.
    • Click Multitasking.
    • You can turn off some of the option of Snap Assist on this window.

If you want to disable Snap Assist, you can turn off Arrange windows automatically by dragging them to the sides or corners of the screen.

Should you have further queries, feel free to post it.
