how to ensure consistent volume setting across different version of Windows?

As what I said in question, when I set same volume in win7 and win11, the actual volume is not the same. Although I use the api--SetMasterVolumeLevel, it is even worst. Is it any method to deal with it? I want a volume setting method when I run app in win 7 and win 11, the actual volume has no difference.

    :)

Optimal windows settings for a new headset?

With my external solutions, like my Aune T1 DAC/AMP that I currently use, I run the Windows (source) volume at 100%, and then use the external volume to adjust the output to my headphones. That's how I achieved the best results for consistent and easy volume control and what I would suggest you try here. *Toast :toast:

  3. Vastly different Audio loudness at the same volume setting

I have a pair of Bluetooth headphones I usually use while I'm working just to listen to podcasts or music or whatever in the background. Everything seems very quiet through them even at 100 volume level. I have tried several different headphones and they all have the same issue. Upon checking the sound levels and disabling enhancements and all the other normal troubleshooting steps, the sound suddenly blasted back up to what I assume is the actual full volume setting without me actually changing anything or the numerical volume level changing at all. However, as soon as I closed the sound settings, it went back to being quiet again. I've tried reinstalling my audio drivers as well but that didn't help. I can consistently get this to happen just by opening sound setting and switching tabs between input/output. Any ideas? Does Windows 11 just hate me?

    windows on two different volumes

    Hi,

You can set which volume to use when booting Windows. Follow the steps below on how to set the default operating system within Windows 10:

    • Type msconfig on the search bar then hit
      Enter
      to open System Configuration.
    • Select the Boot tab.
    • Under Boot tab, select which operating system you want to use in the boot menu and click
      Set as default button.
    • Click Apply then OK.
    • Then choose whether to Restart or Exit without restart.

Or you can set it from the boot options menu. Follow the steps below:

    • Turn on your PC or restart it if it is already running.
    • When you see the Choose an operating system screen menu, click the option
Change defaults or choose other options.
    • Click the Choose a default operating system option.
    • The screen will display the current operating system and where it was installed. Choose which operating system's name or volume you want to set it as the default.

Get back to us with the outcome so we can help you out further.
