Windows 10: How to enter pin in safe mode but stuck looping pin not available.

Trying to enter pin while in safe mode, but it just loops as not available. Tried it with Ethernet connected and disconnected and there is no difference. I want to do a clean uninstall of my GPU drivers because my system keeps crashing every so often. I know the components are all good, recently updated the driver's and then now I have a constant BSOD every few minutes.

Can't enter safe mode due to it fails for the pin to work

Hi need some help here,

I'm trying to troubleshoot my windows 11 pc, so I attempted to enter safe mode.

Thier is a serious issue with that process it does not function as intended.

It boots up, it goes to the login screen for PIN code, due to it booting into safe mode the actuall PIN log in functionality is disabled. So thier is now way to even enter my current pin to get to a safe mode boot.

I did a msconfig and selected diagnostic boot vs normal boot up.

In doing so the PIN functionality no longer works.

Message " something happened and your PIN isnt available. Click to set up PIN again "

Selecting set up my PIN doesn't work, it says

you need to install an app for this task, would you like to search the store

Clicking yes or no either choice the window disappears back to the PIN not working log in window and goes no place.

It can't search the store in safe mode, so now my PC is permanently stuck in an unusable safe mode boot with no way to revert it back.

Any attempts to roll back or restore also fail as no options show up for that in a safe mode boot

Why Is thier a safe mode PIN option in the 1st place for safe mode, when safe mode disables the PIN feature from working in the 1st

yes my PIN works perfectly fine in normal boot mode. So that's not the issue. The issue is diagnostic mode disables that even though it asks for a pin loging boot screen, then message something happened and your PIN isnt available.

 

Trouble entering pin after booting in safe mode

Hey guys. Ive been having issues with my laptop freezing, so from msconfig I configured my system to start in safe mode in order to backup my files. However when restarting my laptop I'm unable to login and enter my pin - I'm guessing because the WiFi has been disabled and that's required to authenticate my pin with Microsoft. This is the error I'm getting: "Something Happened and Your Pin Isn’t Available". Is there anything I can do to turn off safe mode from the bios....or reactivate WiFi while remaining in safe mode? Obviously I cant do this from the windows desktop. I'm using a hp elitebook 8569w
