How to extend C partition without losing the applications installed on D partition C and D...

Hello!I know there have been a lot of questions about this issue but those are either too old or do not apply to my situation.I have two disks: one has 1T space and the other one has 2T. This is a screenshot. Sorry I cannot change language as the system is pre-installed, but I think you can understand its meaning. Now I want to extend my C partition space as more than 90% space has been used. So I want to 'transfer' some space of D partition to C partition. I know there are some methods to do this, including some third-party softwware. However, the question is that I have installed some softwar

Windows 7 Drive C extend partition

    Hi,

I have a problem extending my drive c partition, here's the scenario:

Basically, I have 2 partition, the drive C and drive D. Since I am no longer using the drive D i want to delete the partition and add it to drive C.

    Heres what I've done,

I navigate to disk partition manager and delete the Drive D partition after that i right click the Drive C partition to extend its storage but the extend button is disabled.

Next, I use my bootable windows 7 installer and choose the advance method installation, there, i was able to extend the partition, but, i want to know if extending the Drive partition will remove my drive c data ? I dont want that to happen. . I want just
to extend its storage thats it. So that i can be only using Drive C.

    Thanks. .

Windows 10 cannot extend C partition

    Hi YehiaElsawy

Windows can only extend a partition into a contiguous partition directly to the right of that partition

Because your D drive is between your C drive and that unallocated space, Windows will refuse to extend C

    A couple of options:

    1

Copy whatever data is on D to an external drive, delete the D drive, extend C and then re-create the D drive to the right of the extended C drive

    2

Use a 3rd party utility like the Free version of AOMEI Partition Assistant to merge C and the unallocated space. The Free version of AOMEI is fully featured, fast and reliable . . .

    Resize partition C

In order to extend C and recover space from D, you will need to delete the 866 MB Healthy Recovery Partition and the Storage D:\ partitions.

There appears to be data on the D:\ partition.

I recommend you backup any important data on that partition before deleting it. After deleting the partitions, you will be able to extend C:\

    Steps:

Right click the ‘Healthy (Recovery Paritition) and the
Storage (DHow to extend C partition without losing the applications installed on D partition C and D... :)
partitions in Disk Management, on the contextual menu, click the ‘Delete Volume’ option. Click ‘Yes’ when the warning dialog appears.

The Volume you deleted will now appear as ‘Free space’, you will also notice that the disk icon no longer appears in the list of volumes.

Right click the Free space partition, and click Delete, click Yes on the Disk Management warning that appears.

The volume will now appear as Unallocated. Our next step is to merge back that unallocated free space with the system partition

A wizard will now begin that will guide through the steps to merge back the unallocated space with your system partition.

The wizard provides a simple procedure to merge back the unallocated space with the system drive. Once you have selected the space, click Next, at the end of the wizard, you will see the amount allocated.
