Windows 10: How to factory reset laptop without bitlocker recovery key?

Hello,I'm lock out of using my laptop by bitlocker recovery key. Unfortunately my Microsoft account got disconnected from my laptop and my bitlocker recovery key is no longer accessible through it. I have most of my hings stored therefore the biggest issue is to be able to use my laptop again. Can I just use he factory reset and windows will get installed normally or there is something more that needs to be done?Thanks in advance

What puzzles me is why the Bitlocker recovery key is not listed on the microsoft account, but there is a recovery key listed there for a computer I do not recognise.

I have several laptops but only the HP Envy has had Bitlocker on it. So what key is this on my account? And why isn't the Envy key there?

suggest trying the refresh option first. Refreshing your Surface reinstalls Windows and keeps your personal files, settings, apps that came installed on your Surface, and apps that you installed from Microsoft Store. Here are the steps:

1. Follow the instructions on this link to download a recovery image for your Surface device.
2. Shut down your Surface and plug it in so you don’t run out of power during the refresh.
3. Insert the USB recovery drive into the USB port.
4. Press and hold the volume-down button while you press and release the power button. When the Surface logo appears, release the volume-down button.
5. When prompted, select the language and keyboard layout you want.
6. Select Troubleshoot > Refresh your PC, and select the operating system you want to refresh.
7. On the Refresh your PC screen, select Next >
   Refresh.
8. Surface restarts and the Surface logo appears during the refresh process (this can take several minutes).
