Windows 10: How to factory reset Windows 7 without a CD or factory restore point

I'm clearing out some old PCs that are running OEM Windows 7 licenses. However, I do not have the previous installation disks and there is not a factory restore point in the list of the system restores. When I go to try to reset windows in backups and restore it only lets me choose disk or restore point, no factory reset settings.I'm just trying get a clean slate on the hard drive and fresh install with none of the info on it. Outside of upgrading the system to windows 10 which is more user friendly, I'm at a loss, and even then I'd be saddling a machine that can barely run Windows 10 with no

Download an ISO of the Avira AV boot CD, burn it on your own computer, and then boot from that CD on your mom's computer and run a cleanup.

Seriously, you should just download a Windows disc and format the laptop. Best and easiest course of action.

To restore the original factory software image on your computer follow these steps:

• Make sure the computer is turned off ("Shut-down" from the Windows Start menu)
• Remove any peripherals such an external mouse, keyboard, monitor, USB flash drive etc.
• Make sure the AC Adapter is plugged in and working.
• Press and hold down the 0 (zero) key on the keyboard while powering on the computer. Release it when the recovery warning screen appears.
• If the recovery process offers a choice of Operating Systems, select the appropriate one for you.

If you are incapable, or uncomfortable with following any of the recommendations on how to restore the laptop, then I recommend you take it to your local IT guy and ask him to do it for you. Sometimes the best of us have to visit a ripoff merchant to get something fixed, or even just tested...

There are a number of types of Restore/Reset

A Manufacturers Factory Restore

A Windows Reset

A Restore Point

If you want to take that PC back to its initial state when you purchased it, you need to use the Manufacturers Factory Restore function

On your Start Menu, find the Manufacturers Folder (HP, Dell .. . etc.) is there a function there to perform a Factory Restore or even to create Recovery Discs?
