Windows 10: How to find a driver for STK1160 Easycap - solved

Hi, this device is used to capture audio and video, USB to RCA and S-Video.

There are hundreds of internet articles offering drivers and ways to use and set this up. I tried a number of drivers on my new 64 bit Win 10 laptop, but could not get the video driver to work (yellow triangle in device manager). (I've used the same device on a number of other Windows installations, 32 bits not 64).

This is what worked:
a. install a driver - audio ok, video not.
b. run DriverMax - a freeware/commercial driver scanner program and download and install the driver offered.

Success!

This is the second missing driver DriverMax has found for me in dealing with Win 10.

Note: Driver scanner utilities are not recommended except in such exceptional circumstances as this and definitely not in the context of Windows 10.

I Need SM-USB 007 Driver

I have the same problem with my EasyCap I also have Windows 10. I installed the driver from the disc that I got with my EasyCap that installed ok but with I click on it, it comes up with (could not initalize the capture device) loads but falls to by usable
so when I looked in my Device Manager it comes up in other and it has an alert on the device so when I try to update it I use the (search automatically for updated driver software) it go's off and looks then it comes up with (Windows was unable to install
your SM-USB-007. (this is my easycap) Windows could not find driver software for your device) I also tryed it in another usb but it still comes up with the same problem could you help me please.

 

EasyCap video capture adapter Windows 10

Windows 10 does not recognize the the USB 2.0 input of the EasyCap device. Loaded the software and drivers on the DVD. EasyCap works on all previous versions of Windows (7,8, XP, etc.) why doesn't it work on 10? Also, most of the time when I put the DVD
in it does not recognize the DVD.
