Windows 10: How to find my Windows 10 Home Digital Key Code

Hello Community; I failed to back up my old computer and it crashed, DEAD.I now have a new Dell PC with Windows 10 Home, no visible key code stickers.It is probably a Digital Key code, is there a way that I can find out what it is for future use in case I have to reinstall my Windows 10 Home on a new SST hard drive. I just do not want to Buy a new computer like I had to do this time. Thank YouBEEP05

during the installation process skip the steps which ask for a product key and select the option 'I am Reinstalling Windows 10 on this PC', and activation will not be an issue, your PC will have a digital entitlement stored on the
Microsoft Servers

The 7 digit code is used to confirm your ID with your Microsoft account

Please follow these steps:

• Open the Settings App, go to Accounts
• You should see the "Verify" link just above your picture
• Check your Email to see if Microsoft have sent you a 7 digit code
• Enter the 7 digit code when asked

Thanks but I don't want to do any decrypting. I want to download a Win 10 ISO from Microsoft and install it using my Win 8 key. No other steps required. Is that possible?

 

Installing Windows 10 using Windows 7 key

Nope, you need to install Windows 10 first and make sure the Windows 7 key is transferred to your Windows account after you've installed Windows 10 (not quite sure how that works). I missed the last step and I could not activate Windows 10 after a re-install... Microsoft seem to have done everything they can to make it a PITA. Also, it's technically too late to do this now anyhow, as the upgrade offer has expired. But KMSPico works quite well...

As for getting rid of Windows, delete the Windows folder.
