Windows 10: How to fix a hyperx quadcast s mic

I recently bought a hyperx quadcast s microphone, I have been using it recently with no issues but yesterday the rgb stopped working so I’m not sure how to fix this problem: plz send advice

Calling Customer Support For Hyperx Quadcast 2023

Hi Hahn. I just called the tech support team from Hyperx. The guy on the phone was Erick. He told me that the HyperX Quadcast Original, not S version, wasn't built for NGenuity. NGenuity came after the original HyperX. I told him about the issue of no jack information. Erick told me that the HyperX Quadcast wasn't built that way and it was built with USB Port. So even if my laptop says no jack information, it is still working fine. As long as, my mic is turn on, output and input is set to Hyperx, and I can record my voice in audacity or descript, then everything is fine.

Zoom Meeting: I told Erick about the Zoom Meeting that I had recently when I had to do a notary to have a virtual address. He says to always make sure that the output says Hyperx so people can hear me. He told me if I had a recorded zoom meeting, he would help to test everything out on their end. I realize something. That day before my zoom meeting, I was testing my mic on the test zoom app. What I actually didn't do is go to the actual downloaded app on my laptop. I realized that my output was set to the speaker Realtek (Built-in laptop) and not Hyperx. No wonder the person couldn't hear me. Erick also recommended me to set the output as (Same as System (Hyperx Quadcast) in order to automatically default it.

Mic Connected To Headphone And Talking To My Mic Without My Headphone Connected

Lastly, he says if the mic light is on that means is not muted and is working fine. I told him about that I hear my mic working when I connect it with the headphone. Erick says, if I were to speak to the mic without connecting my headphones, it will still work. It just that I need to make sure my mic is front of me or get a mount to speak directly and efficiently. I will go buy a mount then.

Third Party Recording Software

One more thing, he says that whatever third party recording voice software I use is to always make sure that the mic is pointed to X software when starting recording. The software should be running in order to record my voice. In this case, I think I'm going to use descript.

You can't hear your own voice while speaking to the mic:

This is a common issue with microphones that don't have built-in monitoring, which allows you to hear your own voice in real-time. The HyperX Quadcast doesn't have a built-in monitoring feature, so you'll need to use headphones or speakers to hear your voice while recording or streaming. If you don't want to use headphones, you can try using speakers instead.

You can hear your own voice through the headphones connected to the microphone:

This is likely due to a setting in your computer's sound mixer. When you connect your headphones to the microphone, the sound is being routed through the microphone and back into your headphones, creating a feedback loop. To fix this, you'll need to adjust the settings in your computer's sound mixer to prevent the microphone from playing back through your headphones.

Here are the steps to adjust the sound mixer settings:

Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Open Sound settings".

Scroll down to the "More Sound Settings" section and go to the "Sound Control Panel".

Select the "Recording" tab.

Right-click on your HyperX Quadcast microphone and select "Properties".

Click on the "Listen" tab.

Uncheck the box that says "Listen to this device".

Click "Apply" and then "OK".

Make sure your mic is enabled and set as the default device in your device’s settings. You can do this by going to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Recording tab. Right-click on the HyperX Quadcast mic and select Enable and Set as Default Device. Then click on Properties and go to the Levels tab. Drag the volume slider to 100 and click OK.

Make sure your mic is selected in Zoom. During a meeting, click on the up arrow next to the Microphone icon and choose HyperX Quadcast from the list. You can also test your mic by clicking on Test Speaker & Microphone.

Make sure you have allowed access to your microphone in Zoom and other apps that might use it. You can check this by going to your device’s app settings and ensuring Zoom has permission to access your microphone.

Make sure you are not muted in Zoom or in other programs that might interfere with your audio. You can unmute yourself by clicking on the Microphone icon in Zoom or by pressing Alt+A on your keyboard.

You see a pop-up saying "no jack information":

This could be a driver issue. Try downloading and installing the latest drivers for your microphone from the HyperX website.

I Can't Hear My Own Voice Using HyperX Quadcast On Windows 11 | How Do I fix it?

Hi again. I installed the Ngenuity and I still see no jack information issue. I did a little research on Youtube and people are saying that the original HyperX Quadcast doesn't support this software. If it is like you said that the microphone is built using with the headphones connected to the mic, then it shall be. I noticed that when I connect my headphones to the mic, I can is working fine. Of course, there is no echo or bad feed coming out. Windows keep saying that the mic is working as intended and doing test I see the volume fluctuating. I mean I was able to record my voice on audacity.

I will call HyperX tomorrow and on what they have to say.
