Windows 10: How to fix App wants to reinstall after upgrade to win11 - Printshop 23.1

This is a fix I discovered for an app that stopped working after upgrading from Win10 to Win11 in place upgrade, not fresh reinstall. This may work for other older apps that ask to reinstall after upgrading from win10 to win11. Printshop 23.1 was working on Win10 in compatibility mode win7 settings. After win11 upgrade, clicking on Printshop 23.1 shortcut on taskbar opens a dialogue saying the setup file cannot be located it searched for the setup file in a location where I used to keep it. This worked for me:1 Right click shortcut to app, right click app name "The Print Shop 23.1",

Win11 upgrade not coming

If you checked again my previous replies, you can see ASUS re-installed my new notebook a even newer Win10 Home installation. After this 2nd time installation, I only did these to the toy:

1. installed chrome
   
2. changed its display brightness
   
3. changed wallpaper
   

After your previous suggestion, the 1 month temp McAfee was gone.

I can't figure out why I can't upgrade to Win11 for such a new notebook. Newer notebook will come with Win11 natively

 

Printshop Deluxe 23.1 is not working on Windows 10.

To make The print shop 23 work with Windows 10:

First Uninstall The Printshop.

Next uninstall net framework 1.1.

Run "regedit and remove all instance of printshop.

Reboot

Install net framework 1.1 from Microsoft.

Reboot

Install The Printshop 23 in its entirety to the hard drive.

Reboot and enjoy

Printshop Deluxe 23.1 is not working on Windows 10.

I upgraded from Win7 to Win10 and followed Jeffrey Young's instruction to install Print Shop 23. Works great but when I close the program I cannot use it again until I restart my computer. any help would be appreciated!
