Windows 10: How to Fix Black Background Behind the Thumbnails. Folders, Icons, Images Etc..

Black background on thumbnails. i need it to be white

ok so i have a digitizing software that displays the design icons as thumbnails, most of my icons have the white background, but some of them are changing it to a black background? does anyone know how i can fix this please? i have over 85,000 designs and
to keep clearing the cache and letting them reload takes days and days only for the thumbnail problem to happen again? not sure if you could also help me on how i could get them all to load a lot quicker, i have been doing it folder by folder. i have added
a couple of screenshots of what is happening, its in a lot of my folders. You will notice that a couple of the folder have a "D"icon on them, that is the digitizing software and that is what i will see until i go through and load all of the thumbnails again!

How do I fix PNG thumbnail icons showing a black background in OneDrive Personal?

I create products for teachers and students using clipart. I recently began using OneDrive Personal to house my extensive clipart collection. However, all the PNG icons/thumbnails appear in Windows Explorer with a black background.

For example, I have an entire folder of black arrows that with a black background now looks like black rectangles, making it impossible to distinguish the images. And there are thousands.

I know it is a problem within OneDrive because if I drag the icon onto the desktop (to the right in the screenshot below), the background immediately reverts to transparent/white. However, I need to store the clipart in the cloud of OneDrive and not my PC.

My laptop is brand new (3 weeks old) running Windows 11 with the latest graphics card and updates. Plenty of space on the hard drive.

I tried updating drivers, but the system indicated all was updated. I also tried deleting thumbnail cache. No effect.

What is a fix to turn the thumbnail icon backgrounds back to transparent/white and not appear as black rectangles?

It's important to note though that this is just a graphical issue and it will not cause any damage or corruption to the content of the folders and files. However, it is unsightly and I can completely understand why you want these folders to appear 'normal'.

Try each of the 3 steps listed. One of these will normally resolve the issue. Just remember to reboot after trying each step as some of the steps require a reboot to fully work and clear the thumbnail cache.
