  1. How to fix d3d11.dll issue with “Bad image”

Hi there,I’m not really a tech kinda guy but I was just wondering could someone help me with this d3d11.dll bad image error? I’ve tried almost everything I could see on the internet and nothing works. I even tried resetting my PC several times but for some reason it won’t even reset. The command scannow/ sfc or something along those lines doesn’t work either. I mainly just use this PC for video editing and gaming. But I can’t do either. Also, another issue i'm facing is my taskbar won’t even show. I can’t see pinned apps or current processes running there. I’m really fixed on fixing the issue,

    :)

    d3d11.dll Issue

    Hello,

I was trying to run an program on Windows 10, and it's giving me an error: "Could not load d3d11.dll".

Troubleshooting steps I have taken so far:

    • Installed the latest version of Microsoft DirextX - downloaded from Microsoft website
    • Installed all the updates from Windows update
    • Check the path C:\\Windows\\system32\\ - the file is there
    • updated graphic's driver - from Intel website
      • reinstalled the driver
    • reinstalled the software that was giving the error.
but the issue is still not fixed

  3. D3D11.DLL Crash

    Hello Steve,

Sorry for the inconvenience you are facing. Can you share when exactly are you getting this error?

D3d11.dll errors are most commonly caused when two programs share the same .dll file. When a program is deleted sometimes it will delete the .dll file associated with both programs. Errors can also occur from a faulty d3d11.dll file or incorrect versions
of the file. I suggest you to uninstall the programs you have installed recently and check if you get the error.

Let us know how it goes.

    D3D11.dll

    Hi hishamkafafy:

What is the name and version number of your software, and have you confirmed that it is compatible with a Vista SP2 operating system?

See the Lifewire article How to Fix D3d11.dll Not Found or Missing Errors. Do you have a d3d11.dll file (DirectX Direct3D
11 Runtime library) located in the C:\Windows\System32 folder, and does the error message disappear if you try to
re-install the program as suggested in that Lifewire article? From my 32-bit Vista SP2 computer:

If re-installing the program doesn't help, please let us know the make/model of your computer, your antivirus program and default browser. If you have a discrete
graphics (video) card (e.g., NVIDIA, AMD, etc.) let us know the make/model and current driver version. Post back if you need help finding the driver version for a graphics card in the Windows Device Manager.

This could be unrelated to your d3d11.dll error, but please note that there is a known issue with Vista SP2 computers where Windows Update can get stuck on "Checking for updates..." and cause unexpected problems - see the VistaForums FAQ
How to Fix Vista SP2 "Checking for Updates..." Hangs and Slow Windows Updates.
Run a manual Windows Update (Control Panel | System and Maintenance | Windows Update | Check for Updates) - if the initial "Checking for updates..." phase appears to hang for 20 to 30 minutes without running to completion then that indicates that
you are likely affected by the slow Windows Updates described in that FAQ, and we might need to fix that problem first.
