Windows 10: How to fix downloads file crashing File Explorer?

I'm having this issue where whenever I open my downloads folder it says, "Working on it..." and then File Explorer crashes. This just started happening after downloading a file that I'm 100% sure was safe. I read somewhere that it could have too many files or a file could be corrupt, so I ran a scan and it said that all files were fixed, but I'm still having the issue. Can somebody help?

and i have files ranging upto 80GB...

Effective Way to Solve the File Explorer Crashes Issue

You can try the following steps:

1. Tap down the Windows button first to activate the search bar.
2. After that, in the search bar type control, and then click on the top-most search result, that is on Control Panel.
3. Next, in the search bar type file.
4. Now, from the search results click on File Explorer Options.
5. Then, click on the Clean button.
6. Lastly, click on Apply and then on OK.

Windows Explorer crashing due to large files

So I downloaded project reality a mob for BF2 I used uTorrent to download the file and it check to make sure it wasnt corrupt.

Everytime I try to do anything with the file windows explorer hangs and I have to restart it.

This is the same for the old version of project reality. I cannot delete it.

I have never had this happen.

The files in question are 1.8 GB
