Windows 10: How to fix high CPU usage from audiodg.exe?

Hello community,


I really can not get rid of this problem.


Normally it takes between 7-10% of my CPU. When this problem occurs the back ground task "THXHelper" from Razer runs at the same time, which takes around 15% of my CPU. When i killTHXhelper the CPU-usage is added to audiodg.exe and now it uses around 22% of my CPU.


I tried everything other users on the internet were suggesting. Updating my audio drivers and disabling SystemSoundService in"compmgmt.msc" did not help at all. The "disable enhancements" tab on my sound devices does not exist.


Does it have something to do with THXhelper? Should i uninstall my Razer services or other programs i am unaware of? Is there even an reliable fix for this problem?

Hi, please start by working methodically through each step here and confirm that you have done each of these.

Then this one mentions Skype (if unused, you could uninstall it) and the audio troubleshooter:

That will help to give a starting point.

Please complete your system specs (see mine for comparison - My computer below my post). When was your laptop released/what OS did it originally come with and which is the latest OS for which drivers are available might be indicative).

Which Windows build are you using?
This can be really important, and most people don't mention it or include it in their specs.

Try uninstalling the Realtek audio driver completely. You should then be running with the MS driver. You should then be able to see the sound enhancements tab.

Is there any change?
