Windows 10: How to fix high memory (hardware reserved memory) usage ?

I have Win 10 32-bit on a Lenovo SL410 laptop with 4GB ram. CPU is Intel P9600. Graphics is internal Intel Mobile Series 4 Family chipset.

I have updated latest version of bios, windows, drivers for all devices (including graphics).

But for some reason in task manager it always shows 1.2GB "hardware reserved" memory. Why is it using up so much for hardware reserved ? What can I do to reduce this ? I suspect it is the graphics but I need help to figure this out.


I have searched the web and this forum for several days and all the usual suggestions (clearpagefileatshutdown, allow windows to manage swap file size on all drives, swap dram slots) found on the web but nothing has helped.

I remember when 256Mb was a lot of ram and you could upgrade to 512 for about 150 bucks (maybe more). Just sayin.

After new update, 4gb out of 8gb memory is reserved for hardware. Why?
