Windows 10: how to fix "how do you want to open this file?" prompt? showing uninstalled programs

when attempting to select a program to open .cfg, .mcmeta, and .toml files, the box to select a program appears. my goal is to remove the notepad++ entry at the top.notepad++ is uninstalled. when i click on that option, the selection popup closes and opens and asks again. the following directory does not exist on the harddrive anymore.B:\Program Files\Notepad++please let me know if there is any more information i can provide Edition Windows 10 Home Version 22H2 Installed on ‎12/‎24/‎2020 OS build 19045.2311 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4190.0 System Type 64-bit operat

Uninstall a program that doesn't show up?

I downloaded and installer a Program(YouTubeToMP4). It went to Programs (x86) and does not show up on the Uninstall list.

Any suggestions?

 

Please give steps to open the paths to Program Files

If you want to open File Explorer to your C: drive without any registry tweaks, you'll need to do so from a shortcut you create.

1. Open File Explorer to This PC.
2. Right-click Winndows (C and select Create Shortcut:
   
   
   
3. Clock OK in the altert dialog:

can't uninstall program

- Did you try un-installing the program from programs and features?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Repairing or removing programs

To uninstall programs, go to Settings.

• On the Start menu, then select Settings.
• Select System > Apps & features.
• Select the program, then select Uninstall. Some apps that are built in to Windows can’t be uninstalled.
  
• Follow the directions on the screen.

If you are still unable to uninstall the program, follow the steps below.

• In Search, enter Control Panel and select Control Panel.
• Select Programs > Programs and Features, then select the program.
• Select the program, then select Uninstall. Some apps that are built in to Windows can’t be uninstalled.
  
• Follow the directions on the screen.
