Windows 10: How to fix my computer from crashing on games and not installing updates.

I have been experiencing a lot of my games crashing and the Windows Updates aren't downloading, I recently got this PC so it's very new I'm not sure what to do I have already tried to use the trouble shooter and it tells me there isn't anything wrong and then I did a repair update with windows 11 version 23H2 and its not able to install that either, I've restarted the computer several times and once it even said it was updating the firmware and it didn't do anything if someone could help I would really appreciate it, Thanks

If another version works, it would be one set of steps.
If several other versions also fail/crash, then it would be another.

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

  Which game are you trying to play?
  
• Try playing other games and check what the status is.

Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. Follow the below methods.

Method 1

I recommend you to uninstall/reinstall the display driver and check. Follow the below steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Locate for display adapter and click on it to expand.
  
• 
  Right click on the device and click on
  uninstall.
  
• 
  Once you are done uninstalling the driver, restart the computer. It will automatically install the generic display driver.
  

If this doesn’t help to fix the issue. I suggest you to update the display driver. Skip step3 from the above steps and right click on the
device and click on update.

Method 2.

If the above method did not help to fix the issue, I would suggest you to
go to the computer manufacturer website and download the latest display adapter driver. Visit the below link:

Method 3.

For the sound issue try the below steps.

Step 1.

I suggest you to uninstall/reinstall the sound adapter driver and check.

  Press Windows key + X and select

  Now click on Sound, video and game controllers
  to expand, right click on the device and click on uninstall.
  
• 
  Once you are done installing the driver, restart the computer. It will automatically install the sound adapter driver.
  

If the issue still persist, try the below steps.

Step 2.

I suggest you to update the audio driver and check.

  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device manager.
  
• Now click on Sound, video and game controllers and right click on it and
  update the software.
