Windows 10: how to fix my windows 7 professional imports pictures off sd cards in one folder my...

i tried to make sure settings are the same but i am missing something

In windows 7 I could insert my sd card and import pictures and the pictures would be in a folder as images. Now since "upgrading" to windows 10, the pictures end up being listed as jpeg numbers, not actual images. This makes including the images in other
applications extremely time consuming. Any thoughts?

 

Importing Pictures from SD card


I can't get the Photos app to import pictures from my SD card reader. For a while I had Live Photo Viewer as the default import action (can't remember how), but I'd quite like to get it working with a default app. I note that when I right click on my SD drive, I don't get the option to Import photos and videos

Any suggestions?

Before we proceed, I would like you to provide the information stated below:

1. What steps did you perform to fix the issue?

2. When you get the Auto Play Window, what happens when you click on Import or Open folders to View Files?

3. Can you see the SD card when you open This PC?

For now, I suggest that you open This PC and check if the SD card is detected by the computer. If it does then open the drive by double clicking on it and try to manually import the picture by copy/pasting it.

Also, instead of connecting the SD card directly to the laptop try using and card reader and check if you face the same issue.
