Windows 10: how to fix network credential problems

having problems with network credentials. When trying to view other computers on my home network i am asked for the credentials password. Tried fixes I have found on network to no avail. Network sharing worked perfect before windows 10 or 11. Can someone suggest a work around for this problem. Also how to share computer for more than media sharing.. System automatically picked this option..

To assist you better regarding your concern with network credentials, have you checked the Windows credentials for any information about the username and password for the network credentials? If not yet, follow the steps below to access Windows Credentials
manager.

• Press the Windows icon on the desktop.
• Type in Windows Credentials.

Windows Network Credentials

Hi Keith,

We suggest that you disable Credential Manager before mapping your Drives. Please follow these steps to disable Credential Manager:

• In the search box type “Services”
• Right click on “Services” and select “Run as Administrator”
• In the Services Window, look for Credential Manager Service and click “Stop”.
• Restart the computer and go back the Credential Manager Service and set it to “Automatic”.
• Restart the computer again.

Please keep us updated if you were able to map your drives.

 

Network Credentials Incorrect

File sharing has been broken since they removed Homegroup. So I give all the best resources for setting up and troubleshooting File Sharing, so if one thing doesn't work you can try another.

In your case you said you had a problem with Network Credentials so I provided everything possible to do for that as well.

You asked what is the point of trying to get into folder shares and permissions, the answer is that everything depends upon that.
