Windows 10: How to fix sound issues when "Signal enhancements" is turned on?

The device default settings had enabled "Signal enhancements" in sound settings. The problem is when I am in a game and I want to Alt Tab to my browser or listen to music on spotify, no other app sound works. Only the game sound works. If I turn the setting off, all sounds work however the sound quality is very bad.Is there a way for me to leave the signal enhancements "on" and still use make the sound work on all Apps on windows? The game I am playing is FFXIV in case its relevant.

Sound Quality

One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

May not be a speaker problem.

We suggest that you try to disable all enhancements in your speakers properties and check if it helps. Follow these
steps in disabling the enhancements:

  Sound Icon
  and choose
  Speakers.
  
• 
  Go to
  Properties.
  
• 
  Click on
  Enhancements Tab,
  
• 
  Click
  Disable All Sound Effects.

If the issue persists, try to Uninstall/reinstall your driver.
