Windows 10: How to fix taskbar and booting glitch in Windows 11 Home?

I was working on my new hp laptop and it switched off and when I tried to switch it on it got stuck at the password screen and then through windows explorer settings I fixed it somehow and then reboot it. But then the task bar was completely changed to that of old windows versions maybe windows 10 and moved to extreme left corner and it would neither respond for app clicks nor would it show any booting options. I don't know how to fix it..I need my original taskbar settings back also the lockscreen and home screen wallpapers changed to that of windows old versions. Please help me to fix this..

Provide us the additional information to understand the issue and assist you better:

• What exactly happens when you press Alt+Tab keys from the keyboard to switch between the apps?
• Have you made any changes to the operating system prior to this issue?
• What are the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue?

As you said Taskbar is not working, and you will minimize all the opened apps to access the one you wish to from Taskbar. Be clear with how exactly you are trying to accessing the apps from Taskbar.

Step 1: I suggest you to check if you have enabled the Auto-hide option for Taskbar, if so try to disable and check if it helps.

Steps to enable auto-hide Taskbar:

• Right click in the empty space on the Taskbar, click on
  Properties,
• Under Taskbar tab, uncheck the Auto-hide the Taskbar option, click on
  Apply and Ok.

Step 2: I suggest you to install all the pending updates on your device.

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type
  updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on
  Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

Taskbar glitch

Hello Microsoft. I'm trying to help you by give some feedback about this new OS. I don't know if I'm doing this right, it's my first time posting here, but whatever.

Here's a glitch in Windows 10 that i found today, even though I don't know how to reproduce again:

It's back to normal after I closed some windows.

Any suggestions?

How long have you had this problem and what did you do prior to the problem, such as a system update that did a lot of software updates? For the specifics of what you are experiencing with your computer, I would like you to provide me with a video to help me better understand your problem. I suggest you send me the file via private message. (The video should not be too large)

Can you share the exact steps you took to repair the drive using the command prompt? Please share which specific attempts you made.

In case of flickering malfunction in the taskbar, this may be related to the interference of third-party software, you can try to enter the safe mode and check if this issue has been fixed.



I suggest you go into Safe mode to see if the system itself has a problem. We can use this to isolate the problem as Safe Mode enables a minimal number of additional services or apps to rule out issues caused by personalized settings and third-party apps.

Visit Start your PC in safe mode in Windows (microsoft.com) to view the specific steps. Please follow these in order and report back what you discover.
