Windows 10: How to fix the Phone Link error "group messages are turned off by your phone carrier"

Phone Link produces an error: "group messages are turned off by your phone carrier." The carrier does enable and support group messages. Group conversations are all MMS. Samsung phone with Android V8.0. Data is turned on. The error does not always occur. Probably 80% of the time Phone Link will produce this error after a re-boot.

Stop Windows 10 from asking to link phone to computer

Besides Group Policy, what other ways have you tried ?
Do you utilize Shared experiences, Share across devices ?

Unlink your phone from your PC running Windows 10, use these steps:

• Open Settings.
• Click on Phone.
• Click the Unlink this PC option. Unlink your phone from computer.
• Click the Home button.
• Click on Devices.
• Click on Bluetooth & other devices.
• Select your phone.
• Click the Remove device button.

 

Phone Link - Group messages not working anymore

Group messages have stopped working for My Phone app. They just disappear after you send a message in a group. I've relinked my phone and reinstalled but doesn't fix the issue.

Supported phones for Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Mobile

Your list confirms my phone is eligible, Lumia 521. The windows Insider App fails after ~ 15 seconds, restores data and gives me error 80073cf9. I trouble shot this and went thru all the steps mentioned on several websites including MS without any luck. Short of a hard reset, this is where I am now. Suggestions appreciated.
