Windows 10: How to fix "the product key you entered didnt work"?

I just bought a product key for windows 11 Home. I bought the "download" version. Then i got the production key, but it says "the product key you entered didnt work. ..." What can i do and whats the problem?

That does not work. As I stated in my question I get an error code of 0x80070424 "the product key you entered didn't work. Check the product key or enter a different one.

Any other suggestions?

 

Product key didnt work from OEM

I have this laptop windows 10 home and will upgrade to windows 11 pro, but upon inputting the product key oem software, got this error, product key didnt work.

tried multiple times even, restarting and disconnecting from internet, still issue occurs.

Tried this generic key instead: VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T and entered my oem product key

it helped me to update my windows 11 home to windows 11 Pro, however upon checking in Reg edit and running this command, my system's product is becomes different from the one in the OEM software envelope.

wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey

There is still a way to search for your product key. Kindly follow the steps below for you to know your product key:

• Press Windows key + X
• Click Command Prompt (admin)
• Enter the following command: wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey
• Then hit Enter

The product key will be revealed, copy the product key then enter it.

Give us an update on what happens.
