Windows 10: How to fix the system detected an overrun of a stack0based buffer in this application error?

So this error seemingly can happen 2 ways and have already confirmed it is indeed razer cortex causing the issue.Situation 1: Use Razer Cortex to boost within game booster and optimize in system booster, then go to try and launch game in this case Overwatch 2, game opens but is essentially alt tabbed and the error message pops up.Situation 2: You launch game prior to boosting anything via Razer Cortex and it seems to run fine for awhile. After a few matches fps will begin to drop so go to close game and relaunch and upon fully closing out of the game the error pops up alongside Razer Cortex

On a Windows 10 desktop today there was this error message...

“The system detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this application. This overrun could potentially allow a malicious user to gain control of this application“

Any suggestion as to what the problem is and how to rectify the problem?

 

System reports "detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer" in iexplorer

We ran into a system alert box (screenshot as below) complaining "an overrun of a stack-based buffer" in iexplorer randomly.





The OS is Windows Server 2019 and is in zh-CN language. The error message can be translated as "The system detected an overrun of a stack-based
buffer in this application. This overrun could potentially allow a malicious user to gain control of this application".

Iexplorer looks functioning normal after dismissing the alert, but it's really annoying to our users.

Anyone can help with

1) why this happens? how can it be fixed?

2) if it's a but from IE or system, how can we avoid this alert?

3) is it possible to disable system from prompting this kind of alert?

1) Go over Windows using this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues (which is the #1 fix for your error), then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account. Then continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

2) Re-register the Settings app in Windows 10 as shown here:
