    The master file table's (MFT) BITMAP attribute is incorrect. The Volume Bitmap is incorrect. Windows has checked the file system and found problems.

    I need help, every time I open my laptop up, it keeps on scanning and fixing for drive C: but it doesn't really fix it. I tried running chkdsk on cmd manually and it shows this Texts:

    The master file table's (MFT) BITMAP attribute is incorrect.

    The Volume Bitmap is incorrect.

    Windows has checked the file system and found problems.

    I also tried scanning it manually using chkdsk /f c: but it only made the "Scanning and fixing" part run twice during restart.

    Since this problem occurred I noticed that my Laptop boots a little slower.

    I also tried fsutil dirty query c: and it says Volume c: is Dirty.

    PLS HELP ME...

    CHKDSK C: reports the following:

    The master file table's (MFT) BITMAP attribute is incorrect.

    The Volume Bitmap is incorrect.

    Windows has checked the file system and found problems.

    Please run chkdsk /scan to find the problems and queue them for repair.

    After running CHKDSK C: /scan I ran CHKDSK C: again and got the same result as above.

    It seems CHKDSK cannot resolve the master file table's (MFT) BITMAP attribute error.

    How do I fix the MFT bitmap error?

    Bitmap is incorrect

    On another computer chkdsk had displayed errors such as corruption and orphaned files.

    fsutil dirty query confirmed that the drive was dirty.

    chkntfs also confirmed that the drive was dirty.

    A chkdsk /f /r was performed which took a little over 5 and 1/2 hours on a 750 GB internal hard drive.

    Post run it booted to windows repair menu indicating that windows did not start properly.

    Start up settings then safe mode with command prompt was selected.

    A post chkdsk /f / r repair followed by chkdsk in safe mode with command prompt displayed bitmap is incorrect.

    There was a suggestion of chkdsk /scan

    From safe mode with command prompt shutdown /r was entered and an attempt to boot to desktop failed.

    It booted to lock screen or wallpaper.

    Clicking on the enter key did not display the logon screen.

    This is a HP computer. Holding down the shift key on multiple reboots did not go to the windows troubleshooting menu.

    What keyboard key if any on a HP computer gets you to the windows troubleshooting menu?

    What happened during the chkdsk /f /r?

    How come it had booted to desk top without problems and after the chkdsk /f /r it no longer restarts properly?

    What are the troubleshooting methods to fix bitmap is incorrect?

    What are the steps to get to the computer (not usb) windows troubleshooting options when holding down the shift key fails?
